I'm Gabriela Oliva, born and raised in the city of Caracas, Venezuela. From a young age, I found joy and fulfilment in various sports, including ballet, swimming, tennis, and gymnastics, with dance becoming a true passion of mine. At 16, I relocated to Boca Raton, FL, with my mother. There, I immersed myself in the hospitality industry, taking on roles as a hostess, busser, and waitress. Balancing work and academics, I graduated in the top ten percent of my high school class, setting the stage for my academic journey. My educational path led me to Chicago, where I was awarded a full scholarship to the Illinois Institute of Technology. However, seeking new experiences and opportunities, I made the bold decision to transfer to Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL, with the goal of eventually attending the University of Florida after obtaining my Associate’s degree. During my time at Santa Fe College, I didn't just focus on academics. I actively participated in campus life, serving as Treasurer of the Business Club and Vice President of Leadership for Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Alongside my studies, I gained valuable experience in sales and consulting, working with a boutique consulting firm and serving as an English and writing tutor. Beyond academics, I found fulfillment and excitement in extreme activities like skiing, paragliding, skydiving, and scuba diving, earning myself a diving certification along the way. Transitioning to the University of Florida in spring 2024, I wasted no time in getting involved. I joined Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity, where I assumed leadership roles as Vice President of Professional Activities for my pledge class. Additionally, I secured an internship with TTI and was invited to IBM's Accelerate 2024 program, further expanding my skill set in sales, marketing, client engineering, and technical sales. Looking ahead, I am driven by my passion for financial literacy and my desire to pursue a career in the financial services industry. With a diverse background and a wealth of experiences, I am well-equipped to make meaningful contributions in my chosen field, blending my academic achievements with practical skills and genuine enthusiasm for my work.
