David Usher

Third-year information systems student

West Palm Beach Florida
I am currently a third-year student at the University of Florida's Warrington College of Business. I am pursuing a degree in Information Systems, aspiring to obtain a career in Data Science with a current graduation date in May of 2026. Growing up with immigrant Caribbean American parents, I was taught the value of persistence and hard work at a young age, and I have carried these lessons with me throughout college. My parents made sure to expose me to as many different skills and trades as possible during my youth to give me the advantages they never had, and that's when I stumbled across my love for Technology. Whether it was computers, programming or even video games, the limitless potential of technology engulfed my mind from the moment I got my first laptop, and I have carried this passion with me all my life. As I advance through my undergraduate studies, I am eager to enhance my technical skills in Information Systems Management (ISM) and gain further experience in the field. Skills such as database management, machine learning proficiency, programming and data cleaning, are all essential skills that I hope to master through my education. As a student of the Warrington College of Business, I also plan to explore all avenues that the subject of business has to offer. I aspire not to just improve my talents in data science but also, public speaking, leadership, and financial literacy in order to adhere to my parents' advice and become a well-rounded individual. I plan to give back to the Warrington College of Business by applying to become a Warrington Diplomat, this is a position dedicated to educating future students about all the college of business has to offer, through tours and information sessions. I am open to networking and career development opportunities. Please feel free to contact me at davidusher@ufl.edu or connect with me here on LinkedIn.
