Yanet Serrano
Third-year Economics & Political Science Student with Pre-law focus
Fitzgerald, Georgia

Alongside an ambition to strive professionally, I am the daughter of hardworking Mexican immigrants. I was born and raised in Southern Georgia until the age of 9, later moving to Florida with strong hopes of attending college in state to further my education, with great aspirations of providing services for others. Currently, I am a third-year Economics and Political Science student, working towards an International Relations certificate within my major. Professionally, I see myself working in corporate law, with additional interests in global markets and financial services. I am working diligently toward achieving my goals.
My drive, flexibility, open-mindedness, and social skills allow me to be an ambitious and engaging individual that has shaped my passions and eagerness to impact others. Studying economics and political science has allowed me to connect my passion with the intersection of practicing law and business, allowing me to appreciate diverse perspectives. Likewise, I am passionate about the First-Generation community and Hispanic/Latinx community, and I continuously seek to amplify the voices of the people around me who feel unrepresented.
I am open to networking, and if you are interested in learning more about my experiences, please feel free to reach me at serrano.yanet@ufl.edu or connect with me here on LinkedIn.
