Paulina Ogando
Second-year Business Student with Specialization in Wealth Management
Valledupar, Colombia
Hi! My name is Paulina Ogando and I am a sophomore at the University of Florida pursuing a major in Business - General Studies. Being raised in Colombia and deciding to pursue a higher education in Florida was one of the most difficult decisions of my life. Having to leave my family, adapting to the culture and adjusting to a new language forced me to persevere and develop leaderships, communication and financial skills which have pushed me to pursue various involvements and experiences throughout these past three years. I've had the opportunity to work as a student ambassador at the University of Florida's Engagement Center and as a marketing co-director for one of the biggest event management companies in Gainesville. I've also had the unique opportunity to involve myself with so many diverse but like-minded individuals by participating in the Hispanic Student Association Leadership Program and the Sabor Latino Dance Team. My work ethic and sense of commitment generated by these past experiences have allowed me to fully devote myself to every project I am a part of and keep reinforcing my initial sense of perseverance. I am excited for what the future holds especially in an industry so diversified and unique as business, and the breath of endless career possibilities that focus on developing relationships with clients and coworkers. I'm always in search of environments which will challenge my capabilities and push me to further develop this skills. Ultimately, I hope to have a career in consulting, private banking, business analytics or marketing.
